Three community-based arts providers in Jackson County recently received grants for use during fiscal year 2016 from the Indiana Arts Commission.

The groups and the amounts of their grants are Southern Indiana Center for the Arts, $6,449; Actors Community Theater of Seymour, $4,275; and Jackson County Community Theatre, $4,275. The arts center grant is for operating support, while grants to the theater groups are for arts project support.

More than 330 community-based arts providers throughout Indiana will receive grants for fiscal year 2016. The commission approved grant allocations totaling more than $2.75 million in state and federal funds for grants and programs provided by arts organizations and cultural providers throughout the state.

Most of the grants approved by the commission, totaling more than $2 million, will be distributed through the association’s 11 regions to small and mid-sized organizations.

A list of organizations and individual artists receiving grants can be found on the IAC website at in.gov/arts/2337.htm.
