Two Seymour swimmers recently competed in the 2015 Indiana Swimming Age Group Long Course Championships from July 24 to 26 at the IU Natatorium at IUPUI.

Olivia Fish finished seventh in the girls 10 and under division in the 50-meter freestyle with a time of 32.43; 10th in the 100 free (1:12.06), 50 backstroke (38.06) and 50 breaststroke (44.66), 16th in the 200 freestyle (2:41.82) and 18th in the 200 individual medley (3:05.95).

Fish’s times in the 100 and 200 free, 50 backstroke and 200 IM were all records for a Seymour swimmer in the 10 and under age group.

In the boys 10 and under, Benjamin Vorthmann garnered first in the 50 freestyle clocking 31.21, second in the 100 free (109.01) and third in the 200 free (2:36.39)

Vorthmann also placed sixth in the 50 butterfly (1:26.38), 12th in the 100 butterfly (1:27.46) and 13th in the 100 backstroke (1:26.38).

His times in the 50 and 100 free and 50 butterfly were all Seymour records for his age group at the meet.

The record in the 100 free, which was set by Todd Hembrook in 1987, was finally broken by Vorthmann.
