Civil War programs planned at Library

Jackson County History Center President Dick Rumph will present details about how Jackson County people were involved in the Civil War and what Civil War events occurred here during a free program at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Seymour Library, 303 W. Second St.

Rumph also plans to present the program at 2 p.m. Aug 9. Registration is preferred by Friday and may be made by visiting myjclibrary.org/events or calling the library at 812-523-4636.

Rumph is retired from teaching, was a minister and enjoys researching and teaching history, according to a news release from the library.

He also is a co-founder of the Jackson County Drug-Free Council.
