Jeanne H. Corcoran, 88, of Speedway, formerly of Seymour, passed away Sunday, Aug. 2, 2015, at her home.

Born in 1926 in Seymour, she was the daughter of Hoyt and Edna Rottger Hunsucker, both of whom preceded her in death. On May 22, 1956, at Chanute Air Force Base in Illinois, she married Joseph V. Corcoran. He preceded her in death Oct. 9, 1999.

She was a 1944 graduate of Zionsville High School and a 1950 graduate of Louisville General Hospital School of Nursing.

Jeanne was a member of Saint Ambrose Catholic Church in Seymour. She served in the United States Air Force as a captain from June 1, 1951, to Aug. 1, 1957. She retired from Lutheran Community Home after 24 years of service as a registered nurse. She was director of nurses at Lutheran Community Home for 16 of those years and a member of the Daughters of Isabella.

Survivors include two sons, Patrick (Marta) Corcoran and Tim (Sandi) Corcoran; daughters, Maureen (Andrius) Gestautas, Sheila Corcoran, Rosemary (Kenny) Perry and Karen (Frank) Lee; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mary Etta Hunsucker.

Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Kathleen Corcoran, and a brother, Jerry H. Hunsucker.

A funeral mass will be at 10 a.m. on Thursday at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Seymour, with Father Dan Staublin officiating.

Burial with follow at Riverview Cemetery, with full military graveside rites conducted by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1925, American Legion Post 89, Disabled Veterans 47, Korean and Vietnam Veterans, all of Seymour.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, with a rosary service at 3:30 p.m. at Voss Chapel and from 9 a.m. until time of service Thursday at the church.

Memorials may be made to St. Bonaventure Indian Mission, St. Ambrose Catholic School or donor’s choice of charity.
