SEYMOUR

Virginia “Jenny” Payne Darlage, 82, of Seymour, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 4, 2015, at Schneck Medical Center with her family by her side.

Born Aug. 29, 1932, in Seymour, she was the daughter of Roy and Lois McDonald Payne, both of whom preceded her in death. On April 15, 1956, she married Donald K. Darlage of Brownstown, and he survives in Seymour.

She graduated in 1950 from Shields Junior/Senior High School in Seymour and attended The Tabernacle in Seymour. She worked at Standard Grocery, and then Clark’s Food Market until its closure. She then became a payroll clerk for the Indiana Department of Transportation. After 27 years of service with INDOT, she retired. Jenny enjoyed her fur baby, Sophie. She and Don made many trips into town with Sophie by her side. She would watch FOX News every day and into the evening. There wasn’t anything in this world that she didn’t know was going on. Jenny will be missed by her friends and family, but they say they take comfort in knowing she is rejoicing in Heaven and rocking Baby Nola.

Other survivors include two daughters, Becky (Scott) Davis and Tricia Rigby; grandchildren, Heather (Tyler) Lewis, Bryan Rigby and Brooke (Reuben) McMackins; and three great-grandchildren, Nevaeh, Aaliyah and Brayden McMackins.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Alice Zahnd; her brother, Ike Payne; and her great-granddaughter, Nola Lewis.

The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Voss Chapel with the Rev. Larry Arrowood officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. until time of service Saturday.

Memorials may be made to Red Sky Rescue, Seymour Christian Academy or donor’s choice of charity.
