Garrett Thomas Ferguson, 15, of Columbus, passed from this life at 3:50 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 8, 2015, at his home.

Born Sept. 15, 1999, in Seymour, Garrett was the son of Trent and Johanna Jones Ferguson.

Garrett was a sophomore at Columbus East High School where he participated in wrestling. He was a sports enthusiast and grew up playing baseball, basketball, football and golf. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing, paintball, working on cars, animals, and showing and riding horses. He was employed at Tropical Smoothie Cafe and a volunteer at Bartholomew County Humane Society. He attended Community Church of Columbus.

Survivors include his parents, Trent and Johanna Ferguson of Columbus; grandparents, Gilbert and Deborah Ferguson of Bargersville, Dianne Ferguson of Texas and Tom and Lana Jones of Greenwood; aunts and uncles, Greg and Shelly Ferguson, Tim Ferguson, Jennifer Jones and Todd (Amy) Jones; and cousins, Kayla (Cory) Dixon, Clayton Ferguson, Claudia Ferguson, Candice Jones, Connor Jones and Allison Jones.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Community Church of Columbus with Chuck Coleman officiating.

Family and friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and noon to time of service at the church.

Burial will be at Daugherty Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Bartholomew County Humane Society.
