Michael Eugene “Mike” Miskell, 58, of Brown County, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 11, 2015, in Indianapolis.

Born Sept. 11, 1956, in Seymour, he was the son of Gerald “Eugene” Miskell, who preceded him in death, and Carol Meyers.

Mike was a safety specialist employed with Omrion Factory Safety. He was a member of the National Rifle Association and loved to hunt and fish. He was an outdoors person.

Survivors include his wife, Tammy Springfield Miskell, Brown County; son, Shawn (Sam Perkinson) Miskell, Seymour; mother, Carol Meyers; stepchildren, Kathleen Smith, Sarah Portwood, and Robert (Carly) Portwood, all of Indianapolis; nine grandchildren, Payton, Haley and Keigan Miskell, Deman Stewart, Iera Stewart, Nyla and Max Portwood, and Kaylee and Zoe Smith.

Besides his father, he was preceded in death by a son, Steven Michael Miskell.

The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Bond-Mitchell Funeral Home with Earl Piper officiating.

Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery, Seymour.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
