Charlene B. Comstock, 85, of Seymour, and formerly of North Vernon, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 12, 2015, under the wonderful care of the staff at Lutheran Community Home in Seymour.

Born Sept. 4, 1929, in Shelbyville, she was the daughter of Thomas and Zible René Wright Swinehart, both of whom preceded her in death. On June 13, 1948, in Shelbyville, she married Roland Comstock Jr., who preceded her in death March 13, 2009.

Charlene was a member of Assembly of God Church in North Vernon, Delta Theta Tau of Jennings County and the American Button Society. She was employed as a medical receptionist. She was active in the Republican Party of Jennings County.

Survivors include her son, Thomas Gregory (Debbie) Comstock; grandchild, Matthew (Misti) Findley; great-grandchildren, Aleia, Mattie and Mollie Findley; and stepgreat-grandson, Jacob Stark.

Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Charlene Zee Comstock.

A memorial service will be conducted by the family at 11 a.m. Monday at Voss Chapel in Seymour. A private family graveside service will be conducted at Forest Hill Cemetery in Shelbyville.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until time of service Monday at the funeral home.
