The Indy Edge 18-and-under softball team finished as runner-up in the Triple Crown Sports East Coast Nationals conducted July 30 through Aug. 2 in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

The championship game was played on Coastal Carolina University’s softball field. The team compiled an 8-2 record for the weekend, losing to St. Louis Espirit 3-0 in the championship game of the winners’ bracket and then defeating Richmond Ruckus 5-4 in the losers’ bracket game to get back to the championship game. In the final game, they lost to Espirit in eight innings by international tiebreaker 5-4.

Eight of the 10 players have committed to play college softball, from NAIA to NCAA Division I. The other two are currently uncommitted but drawing interest in several schools.
