Jackson County United Way’s board of directors recently approved a new board member.

The addition of Heather Zickler with Jubilee Flowers and Gifts to the board now means it has a full complement of 21 members, according to a news release from Jeff Hubbard, co-chairman of the governance committee.

Zickler said she joined the board because she believes it affects so many aspects of how the community functions and thrives.

“My late father-in-law, Bob Zickler, taught me how important being involved is to the progress of the community,” she said. “I’m excited to bring an open mind and progressive thoughts in order to enrich our community.”

Zickler said she looks forward to joining the board because she believes it is her time to give back to the community.

“Heather brings a passion for people and the knowledge of running a small business,” said Talmadge Reasoner, co-chairman of the governance committee.
