Seymour Mayor Craig Luedeman and Jackson County United Way executive director Tonja Couch presented Vision 2025 to the Jackson County Public Library board of trustees when they met Monday at the Seymour Library.

The library is included as a possible support partner on several action plans based on the library’s 2014-16 strategic plan, according to a news release from the library.

Prior to the presentation, the library conducted a public hearing on the Internet acceptable use policy that has not changed since August 2014.

During the regular meeting that followed the public hearing and presentation, the board approved a change to the social media policy that the library will not identify or tag members of the public without their verbal or written permission.

The budget committee announced the amount advertised for the 2016 operating fund is $2,198,467, a 2.6 percent increase. The only advertising this year is on the state’s online Gateway.

A public hearing on the budget will be Sept. 21 at a regular library board meeting, and the adoption is set for Oct. 19 at a regular meeting. Both meetings will be at the Seymour Library, 303 W. Second St.
