Nora “Connie” Jaynes Garrett, 77, of Seymour, passed away Thursday, Aug. 20, 2015, at Lutheran Community Home.

Born Aug. 11, 1938, in Seymour, she was the daughter of Robert Arthur and Iva Lucille Eisele Jaynes, both of whom preceded her in death.

Nora was a member of The Point in Seymour. She was a licensed practical nurse for 30 years and director of nursing for a North Vernon nursing home. She enjoyed painting, loved animals and was a member of the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.

Survivors include two daughters, Kimberly (Ralph) Claxton and Beth (Mike) Walden, all of Seymour; sister, Phyllis (Eli) Deaton of Crothersville; niece, Cheryl (Dave) Helton of Seymour; her friend of 18 years, Bill Bell of Seymour; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Woodlawn Life Celebration Centre, 311 Holiday Square Road, Seymour.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of service Saturday.

Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery.
