A 23-year-old man faces three criminal charges after an incident Saturday night in the Gorbett’s Chapel area involving a chase that ended on a dead-end street.

Ethan V. Singer of Norman was arrested after a brief pursuit that began when county Officer Adam Nicholson said he tried to stop a motorist in a black 1998 Toyota passenger car for speeding on County Road 625N near Freetown.

The motorist continued to drive west on County Road 625N before turning south on County Road 875W toward Kurtz. The motorist then drove through Kurtz and turned west on Second Street before leading police down a dead-end to a residence.

Singer was arrested and faces charges of resisting law enforcement with a vehicle, a Level 6 felony; operating while intoxicated; and blood alcohol content 0.15 or greater. He is being held in the Jackson County Jail in Brownstown without bond pending his initial hearing.

Officer Dustin Steward assisted with the pursuit and arrest. The incident began at 10:30 p.m. Saturday.
