Four-part T-shirt quilt class planned at library

Cindy Claycamp will teach How to Make a T-Shirt Quilt in a four-part class from 6 to 8:15 p.m. Sept. 1, 15, 22 and 29 at the Seymour Library, 303 W. Second St.

The class is limited to 12 people. Those interested must register and pick up a list of supplies at the library’s checkout desk with a pre-payment of $10 by Tuesday.

Claycamp will teach participants how to make a memory-filled quilt. Attendees should bring an assortment of T-shirts to include in a quilt to the first session. Each person must bring six to 12 uncut T-shirts.

Beginning with the second class, they will need to bring a sewing machine.

Cost for supplies for the quilt is the down payment of $10 plus any other supplies chosen.

Claycamp is one of only under 100 certified quilt appraisers approved by the American Quilt Society in the United States. She has been quilting 37 years and has owned antique and fabric shops for many years. She sells quilt and antique pieces at quilt and craft shows through her business, Quilting Memories. She recently was president of the Indiana State Quilters Guild and is on the board of directors for the Quilters Hall of Fame.

Claycamp and her husband, Paul, live in the Cortland area and are parents of five children.
