Ethel Jane Eldridge, 85, of Salem, passed away Saturday, Aug. 22, 2015, at home surrounded by her family.

Born Sept., 23, 1929, in Cawood, Kentucky, she was the daughter of Harve and Rachel Mitchell Swanson, both of whom preceded her in death. In 1942 in Kentucky, she married Troy Vanbebber, and he preceded her in death.

Ethel spent her entire life being a caring housewife and mother to her family.

Survivors include her three children, Lee Roy Vanbebber Jr., Ruby Caudill and Norma Jean Morgan; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by an infant son; four brothers, Gibb, Harim, Willard and Franklin Swanson; and four sisters, Leona Burkhart, Lottie Mullins, Sudie Grubbs and Mae Price.

A private graveside service will be held at a cemetery in Kentucky.

Voss & Sons Funeral Service and TriCounty Crematory in Seymour handled the arrangements.
