APPLETON, Wis.

Vivian M. Applegate, 102, of Appleton, Wisconsin, died Saturday, Aug. 22, 2015, at Heritage Woods Assisted Living Center.

Born Oct. 21, 1912, at Jeffersonville, she was the daughter of Herbert A. and Cora A. Parks Becker, both of whom preceded her in death. In 1932, she married Roy O. Applegate, who preceded her in death on April 1, 1991.

She moved to Seymour in 1936 and Appleton, Wisconsin, in 2002

She had been member of Central Christian Church in Seymour since 1939 and had attended First Congregational United Church of Christ in Appleton, Wisconsin, since 2002. She was formally trained as a beautician and was a charter member of the Elk’s Lodge Auxiliary in Seymour, a former church deaconess, Christian Women’s Fellowship member and served on several church committees.

Vivian deeply loved her family and treasured her wide circle of friends. She has always been there for all of us and loved us unconditionally. “Thank you, Mom, for being such an amazing mother, mother-in-law, grandmother and great-grandmother. You will be in our hearts and minds forever.”

Survivors include her children, Barbara A. Hensley of Cocoa, Florida, and Mary L. Baehler (Gary) Nekoosa, of Rome, Wisconsin; five grandchildren, Michael (Mitzi) Hensley and Roger Hensley, both of Cocoa, Florida, Susan (Eric) Christopherson of Titusville, Florida, Kristine (Matthew) Swetz of Woodbury, Minnesota, and Kyle (Jaime) Baehler of Greenwich, Connecticut; four great-grandchildren, Brett and Melissa Hensley and Jack and Grant Swetz; and a nephew, James Becker of Jeffersonville.

Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three sisters and a brother.

A memorial service will be at The Heritage in Appleton, and arrangements are pending.

Burial will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Walnut Ridge Cemetery in Jeffersonville.
