Dine United proceeds benefit charity campaign

During the month of October, participating restaurants in Jackson County will #TEAMUP4JACSY and donate a portion of their proceeds to the 2015-16 Jackson County United Way Team Up for Jackson County campaign.

This is a way to enjoy a meal with your family and help the community at the same time.

“We have found that people really like to support their local restaurants and the United Way,” said Sean Hildreth, resource development director with the Jackson County United Way.

“The staff have fun, the guests have fun and we have fun enjoying great food with great people,” Hildreth said.

This year’s event features some great offerings of support, including an event Oct. 17 at McDonald’s of Brownstown, he said. The owners of the restaurant will donate $1 for every Big Mac, Egg McMuffin and Sausage McMuffin sold as part of the new all-day breakfast menu. This event will begin at 3 a.m. Oct. 17 and continue through 3 a.m. Oct. 18.

Another generous offer comes from Red Star Pizza Co. of Seymour, Hildreth said. That business will offer 50 percent of its proceeds Oct. 8. Customers are required to bring a flier, available at the Jackson County United Way Facebook page, to participate in this event.

Other participating restaurants include Bevers Deli, Brewskies Grub & Pub, Brooklyn Pizza Co., Bubba’s Place, Flying Pink Pig BBQ, Hill’s Fish Stand, Java Joint, Orange Leaf, Pizza Palace and Rockford Ridge, all in Seymour; Lucille’s in Crothersville; Cortland Diner; and Blondie’s Pizzeria & Pub in Brownstown.

Hildreth said other restaurants will be added in the coming days.
