Crothersville bests Shawe

CROTHERSVILLE — The Crothersville volleyball beat Shawe Memorial (Madison) 25-21, 19-25, 25-14, 25-23 on Friday.

Tigers freshman Maddie Riley led the attack with 17 hits on 20 tries with eight kills.

The Tigers went 48 of 66 hitting with 20 kills.

Serving, Kashmir Kelshaw led the Tigers making 17 of 19 attempts with six aces.

The Tigers (8-12) will travel to New Washington on Monday.

GIRLS SOCCER

Batesville blasts Trinity

BATESVILLE — In a rescheduled match of the Batesville Invitational championship, the home team dominated against the Trinity Lutheran girls soccer team in an 11-2 rout.

Maddie Roark scored both of the Cougars’ goals on the night. Roark finishes the season with 31 goals.

In goal, Hailley Peters and Piper Acton combined for 14 saves.

Batesville out-shot Trinity 29-3 on the night.

The Cougars (7-7) will play Southwestern in the first-round of the Lawrenceburg Sectional on Tuesday.
