State Road 135 slated for 4-day closure

Three drainage structures on State Road 135 will be replaced next week, all at the north-south highway’s intersection with County Road 550S in Jackson County.

Indiana Department of Transportation maintenance crews from the Brownstown Unit plan to be on site Monday — weather permitting — to make three cuts across State Road 135 pavement, excavate and replace existing drainage pipes. Two have failed. One is undersized and will be upgraded while the highway is closed.

The closure is expected to last four days.

The state highway detour involves State Road 56, State Road 60, State Road 37 and U.S. 50.
