Chester C. Carroll Sr., 82, of Brownstown died at 1:12 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 1, 2015, at Hoosier Christian Village.

Born April 30, 1933, in Jonesville, Virginia, he was the son of Pete Carroll and Alma Cliftion Carroll, both of whom preceded him in death. In 1954, he married Joyce Norma Seale Carroll, who survives in Brownstown.

He was a member of Wrays Christian Church. He worked at Cummins Inc. in Columbus and Arvin Industries in Seymour. He loved to put model airplane and car kits together.

Besides his wife, survivors include two sons, Chester Charles Carroll Jr. and Timothy Joe (Tess) Carroll, both of Brownstown; a daughter, Norma L. Lawyer of Brownstown; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a sister, Bonnie Jean of Arizona.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Larry Carroll; and two sisters, Opal McUrdy and Gladys Koliak.

The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. today at Zabel Funeral Home in Brownstown with Pastor Jacob Breedlove officiating.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until time of service today at the funeral home.

Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery in Brownstown.
