BROWNSTOWN

Jay M. Buttorff, 71, of Brownstown, passed away Saturday, Oct. 3, 2015, at his residence.

Born May 28, 1944, in Jackson County, he was the son of Genive O. Buttorff, who preceded him in death.

Jay worked at Lichter Rubber in Seymour. Before that, he worked at Swain Industries. He loved sports and was an avid Indiana University fan. He enjoyed spending time with family, fishing and attending the Jackson County Fair and numerous other festivals. He was a member of Brownstown Nazarene Church.

Survivors include a brother, Jimmie D. Buttorff of Medora; a niece, Tonya Ault of Medora; and a great-niece, Kori Jo Ault of Medora.

The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Spurgeon Funeral Home in Brownstown with Tim Lichtley officiating.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until time of service Tuesday at the funeral home.

Burial will be at Kurtz Cemetery.
