Tigers beat New Washington in 3

NEW WASHINGTON

Crothersville put together one of its strongest passing performances of the season in a 27-25, 25-8, 25-13 win against New Washington on Monday.

“The team passes were really on target tonight,” Tigers coach Linda Luedeman said. “I was very proud of their passing game. It made everything else just slow. We had excellent court talk.”

Hitting, Maddie Riley went 19 for 21 with seven kills, Katrina Christian made 11 on 12 attempts with three kills and Nikki Hickman made all eight of her attacks with four kills.

As a team, the Tigers amassed 43 hits on 49 tries with 17 kills.

The Tigers (10-13) were equally strong from the serving line, as they were led by Christian’s 18-for-18 performance with five aces.

Brittany Clem made 13 serves on 14 attempts, while Kashmir Kelshaw was a perfect seven-for-seven with four aces.

Thursday’s matchup with Lanesville has been moved to Oct. 13, so the Tigers are off the rest of the week.
