The Log Cabin Day Festival at Muscatatuck National Wildlife Refuge, east of Seymour, will be Saturday as the kickoff to National Wildlife Refuge Week.

The annual event, sponsored by the Muscatatuck Wildlife Society, will be at Myers Cabin and be from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The event features a free ham and bean dinner (cooked the old-fashioned way), music, old-time crafts, wildlife displays, a storyteller and children’s activities. The refuge “closed area” next to the Myers Cabin also will be open to visitors during the event.
