Robert “Bob” Baldwin, 91, of Seymour passed away Thursday, Oct. 1, 2015, in Darien, Georgia, surrounded by his loving family and caregivers.

Born Dec. 16, 1923, he was the son of Price and Gladys Fox Baldwin, both of whom preceded him in death. He married Glenna Bowman in Jackson County, and she passed away in 1976. He then married Ruth Reichenba, who preceded him in death in 2011.

He had been a member of Reddington Christian Church since 1936 and served in the U.S. Army during World War II from July 3, 1944, to Oct. 8, 1946. He received two Purple Hearts. He worked at Texas Eastern for 37 years in maintenance and operations and farmed in his spare time. He enjoyed being a part of the Reddington community. He was a member of the American Legion, and on Oct. 18, 2014, he was privileged to take the Indy Honor Flight.

Survivors include two daughters, Dona (Jim) Rice and Jean Tinnin; two grandchildren, Jon (Casey) Wright and Jenny (David) Brown; and a great-grandson, Zachary Brown.

Besides his two wives and parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Emmylou Bowman.

The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Voss Chapel in Seymour with the Rev. Scott Brown officiating. Burial will be at Reddington Cemetery with full military graveside rites conducted by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1925, American Legion Post 89, Disabled Veterans 47 and Korean and Vietnam Veterans, all of Seymour. 

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until time of service Saturday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to Reddington Christian Church or Indy Honor Flight.
