Gamma Phi chapter of Kappa Kappa Kappa Inc. kicked off the 2015-2016 year with a pitch-in dinner on Aug. 18 at the home of Suzi Stuckwisch.

Deb Bedwell, Kitty Lewis, and LaWanda Tidd organized the event.

Before the meal, an initiation ceremony was conducted. Members welcomed new initiates Kate DuBois, Tiffany Thurston, Jennifer Brooks, Susan Kaiser and Kellie Park.

Following the meal, a representative from the Community Diner talked about what the organization does for the community.

Reports were given by president Ann Tormoehlen, vice president Andi Bukowski, treasurer Glenda Proffer, recording secretary Holly Coates and corresponding secretary Sarah Reecer.

Those celebrating birthdays in July and August were Kay Beatty, Kim Cain, Vanessa DuSablon, Leah Gillaspy, Jessica Matern, Park, Heather Reedy, Katherine Stahl, Ann Tormoehlen and Kelly Woods.

Gamma Phi also met Sept. 15 at Rockford United Methodist Church for the annual anniversary dinner and monthly business meeting. The meal was catered by Johnny Carino’s and cupcakes from Cakes Created were served.

An affiliation ceremony was held for Laura Cottrill who is transferring from another chapter.

The Tri Kappa cake walk and annual nut sale are two of Gamma Phi’s biggest fundraisers. Funds raised allow this chapter to support many charities and organizations with an emphasis on charity, culture, mental health and education including scholarships awarded to deserving local students.

Those celebrating birthdays in September were Kristin Bear, Cottrill, Alyson Fish, Susan Kaiser and Julie Lemming.
