The Owl’s Nest 4-H Club met Sept. 29 at the Seymour Library.

After roll call, members discussed project activity books for their projects and that they are good through an entire level so not to throw them away. Green folders and premium monies should be available at the November meeting.

Enrollment for 2016 4-H runs through Jan. 15, and any project adds or deletes will need to be made by May 15, 2016.

National 4-H Week is Oct. 4 to 10, and all members were encouraged to invite their friends.

The members discussed health and safety regarding Halloween and were reminded about wearing reflective outfits and/or taking a flashlight or glow stick, not to go inside any house, have a responsible adult with them at all times and stay out of the streets if at all possible.

Members, leaders and guests present for the meeting were Macy Casner, Gracie Soriano, Caroline McDonald, Missy Casner, Chris Soriano and Suzie McDonald.

A demonstration was given on the Purdue Extension Jackson County’s 4-H website on how to locate the different projects and their requirements.

Go to extension.purdue.edu/Jackson then select Youth and 4-H Projects-Jackson County from the menu.

Refreshments were provided for all members.

The next meeting will be Nov. 24 at the library.
