Theta Omega chapter of Phi Beta Psi sorority conducted its first fall meeting at the Community Foundation of Jackson County.

President Joan Trimpe presided and was assisted by Dana Byrkett, Natasha Miller, Jackie Hill, Kalee Alberring, Mary Reynolds and Janet Cooper.

Spirit team captains Jami Mathis and Alberring took count of pet food contributions that members brought for Red Sky Rescue.

Reynolds and Trimpe will be delegates at the upcoming Phi Beta Indiana State Convention from Oct. 16 to 18 at Clarion Hotel in Clarksville. The New Albany chapter is serving as host chapter for the event.

Becca Rust reported on the Nov. 7 third annual bus trip to Chicago entitled “Kicking Cancer with Capone.” Tickets are $85.

The buses will depart at 6 a.m. from the Seymour Walmart parking lot. Buses will leave Chicago at 7 p.m. CST and arrive home around midnight. Tickets are available by calling Rust at 812-521-4574 or Alberring at 812-216-2147.

All Theta Omega members are responsible for two door prizes each and $10 to apply on snacks furnished on the trip.

Cooper announced the holiday bingo for gift cards, 31 bags, Longaberger baskets and pottery is at 7 p.m. Nov. 17 at the American Legion annex.

Alice Christopher and Doris Baurle announced the next social meeting will be at 6:30 p.m. today at Stahl’s Cafe and Deli, 1048 W. Spring St., Brownstown.

Following the meal, the group will visit Ewing Unique.
