Roger Allen Huffman, 63, of Columbus, passed away Thursday, Oct. 8, 2015, at IU Medical Center in Indianapolis.

Born June 25, 1952, in Columbus, he was the son of Harold and Mildred “Mickey” Lain Huffman, both of whom preceded him in death. On April 15, 2006, in Seymour, he married Pam Moorman, who survives.

He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Borchers, and the 1970 graduating class of Columbus High School. He went on to receive his bachelor’s degree in manufacturing technology from Indiana State University. He worked at Cummins for 38 years until his retirement in 2014. His greatest joys in life were helping with the family farm and spending as much time as he could cherishing his grandchildren.

Beside his wife, survivors include his children, Brent (Sherri) Huffman and Suzan (Brady) Lefton; four grandchildren, Kaytlin and Wyatt Huffman and Bailey and Royce Lefton; stepsons, Brian and Matt Kendall; brother, Tim (Wanda) Huffman; sisters, Marilyn (Warren) Hinton and Sandy Huffman; three sisters-in-law, Terry (Mark) Searcy, Natalie (Doug) Fish and Judy Burke; mother-in-law, Betty Moorman; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Arthur “Art” Moorman.

The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Borchers, with the Rev. Steven Wood officiating. Burial will follow at St. Paul Lutheran Church Borchers Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Voss Chapel in Seymour and from 10 a.m. until time of service Tuesday at the church.

Memorials may be made to Reins To Recovery because of his love for horses and children or St. Paul Lutheran Church, Borchers, General Fund.
