Seymour’s Rick Burton recently finished as a national champion in the Snead Flight by shooting a 358 (85-92-88-93) in the 2015 Golf Channel Am Tour National Championships.

More than 1,200 golfers — ranging in age from 11 to 82 and representing 42 U.S. states, Canada and the Caribbean — culminated during the championship tournaments conducted Sept. 18 to 28 at PGA West in La Quinta, California.

Finalists who competed in the National Championships qualified by meeting specific performance criteria during the 2014-15 Golf Channel Am Tour season.

Champions were crowned in six flights at three courses as famed PGA West hosted both competitions, including the Greg Norman Resort Course, the Nicklaus Tournament Course and the TPC Stadium Resort Course.

The Nicklaus Tournament and TPC Stadium courses will host the 2016 CareerBuilder Challenge on the PGA Tour.
