Alice E. Mitchell, 90, Seymour, passed away at 7:25 a.m. Friday, Oct. 9, 2015, at Lutheran Community Home.
She had been a homemaker most of her life. She enjoyed sewing, quilting and working on ceramic projects. She had been a member of Seymour Community Christian Church and loved playing the piano.
Born Sept. 4, 1925, in Limona, Florida, she was the daughter of Ernest and Grace L. Benson Seymour. On May 24, 1952, she married Leonard H. Mitchell, and he passed away on Dec. 18, 2008.
Survivors include five children, Nancy L. Mitchell, Allen L. Mitchell, David L. Mitchell, Susan P. (Frank) Fee and Charles L. Mitchell; one sister, Dorothy Morrison; six grandchildren, Josh (Mandy) Fee, Sara Fee, Leslie (Travis) Hall, Jonathan Mitchell, Katie Mitchell and Jennifer (Chris) Frazier; and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one son, Randy Mitchell; two brothers, Richard Seymour and William Seymour; and one sister, Mary Benson.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Winklepleck-Weesner Funeral Home in Brownstown. There will be visitation earlier that day from noon until service time. Burial will take place at Houston Cemetery.
