Columbus City Band’s fall concert will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at The Commons in downtown Columbus.
The concert will feature the marches, “Honey Boys on Parade” and “Hail to the Spirit;” the overture, “A Jubilant Overture;” the musical, “State Fair,” featuring Jackson County vocalists Monica Kriete and Keith Stam; the jazz/pop song, “Harlem Nocturne,” featuring sax soloist John Reed; Gershwin in Concert; a tribute to Frank Sinatra in the year of his 100th birthday, “Ol’ Blue Eyes” and “Swing’s the Thing;” and “On A Hymnsong of Philip Bliss” and “As the Robin to the Meadow.”
All Columbus City Band concerts are free and open to the public.
The band is directed by Steve McGrew, the former band director at Seymour High School. It also features a number of Jackson County residents.
