An Indianapolis teen staying at the Jackson County Juvenile Home was arrested Thursday after he was found driving a van taken from the home.

According to a report from Jackson County Officer Adam Nicholson, the youth was arrested after Nicholson stopped the van on Tipton Street on the west side of Seymour. Nicholson said the van matched the description of one that had been taken from the home at 416 E. Walnut St. in Brownstown earlier in the day.

The youth, who was driving the van, faces charges of auto theft and operating a vehicle while never having received a driver’s license. He was taken to the Jackson County Juvenile Detention Center in Brownstown.

County Officer Dustin Steward assisted with the investigation.
