Beck’s Mill Oktoberfest will be from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 24.

The public is invited to enjoy a festive fall day at the mill near Salem. Activities will include a Civil War encampment and a raid of the mill at 1 p.m.

Demonstrations include apple-butter making, pottery, knife sharpening, corn grinding and blacksmithing in the new blacksmith shop. There also will be the Washington County Artisans Farmers Market and many local crafters, Hoot Von Woot, campfire beans served with Beck’s Mill cornbread and a pumpkin decorating contest and face painting for the kids.

The mill will close for the season Oct. 31.
