The Ladies Aid of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church met at 1:30 p.m. Oct. 1 in the Brownstown church’s meeting room.

Pastor Jeffrey Patterson opened the meeting and then led the group in singing the song of the month from The Lutheran Service Book, “Joyful, Joyful We Adore Thee.”

Nine members answered roll call.

The secretary and treasurer reports were both read and approved.

Kathy Cunningham reported on flowers for the altar in September. Rose Elmer visited the nursing homes in September.

The Christmas party in December was discussed. It was voted to have Margaret Gregory cater the food. Ileen Nehrt and Bertie Roettger will be in charge of all of the details.

The group also talked about the handicap toilet for the downstairs bathroom. The cost was a concern, so the group decided to wait and see what the church trustees decide to do about remodeling.

Nehrt talked about Orphan Grain Train. She spent three hours working there and said it was very interesting, clean and well managed.

Nehrt is on the visiting committee for October, and Joyce Stuckwisch will be host and visit in November.

Hostess for the meeting was Nehrt. The meeting closed with The Lord’s Prayer.
