Albert Wesley Chapman II, 56, of Scottsburg passed away Thursday, Oct. 15, 2015, at Norton Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky, after battling a long illness.

Born Aug. 13, 1959, in Boston, Massachusetts, he was the son of Albert Chapman, who preceded him in death, and Virginia Chapman Mosley Watts, who survives in Scottsburg.

Albert was a 1977 graduate of Crothersville High School and owned and operated several businesses in Scott County.

Besides his mother, survivors include his sons, Albert Wesley Chapman III, Derek Seldon Chapman and Michael Warren Chapman, all of Scottsburg; brothers, Dennis Lee Chapman and John Warren Lankford, both of Scottsburg; sisters, Theresa Lynn Lankford of Scottsburg and Sylvia Thelen of Gloucester, Virginia; 15 nieces and nephews; and eight great-nieces and great-nephews.

Besides his father, he was preceded in death by his stepfather, Robert Watts; and a sister, Debra Chapman.

The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Buchanan Funeral Home in Austin with the Rev. Randy King officiating.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday and from 9 a.m. until time of service Monday at the funeral home.

Burial will be at Little York Cemetery.
