Vallonia sheep farmer headed to exposition

Collin Downing of Vallonia has entered a sheep in the senior market lamb division of the 42nd annual North American International Livestock Exposition set for Nov. 7-20 in Louisville, Kentucky.

The purebred livestock show will feature about 30,000 entries and nearly $750,000 in prizes and awards, according to a news release.

Purebred farms from nearly every state and Canada bring livestock to compete in many divisions. More than 200,000 American and international visitors attend the hundreds of individual breed shows, sales and events.

The expo also is home to numerous youth events that are a part of the livestock industry’s traditions.
