Writing month kickoff planned at library

The local National Novel Writing Month kickoff is from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Nov. 1 in the meeting room at the Seymour Library, 303 W. Second St.

For information or to register for this free Jackson County Public Library program, visit myjclibrary.org/events or call the Seymour Library at 812-523-4636.

Those interested are invited to begin their own novels in the company of other local writers, led by published author Kathi Linz.

Writers should bring their paper and pens, laptop, portable word processor, typewriter or whatever they use to write a story. The point is to maximize the word count and get started writing.

The National Novel Writing Month challenge is to write 50,000 words (the minimum number of words for a novel) between Nov. 1 and 30.
