Scott Allen Carr, 51, of Seymour unexpectedly passed away Wednesday, Oct. 21, 2015, at his home.

Born April 21, 1964, in Seymour, he was the son of Eddie and Caroline S. Sterling Carr, both of whom survive. On April 21, 2012, in Seymour, he married Misty Marie Halbert, who survives.

Scott graduated from Seymour High School and then went to work as a brick mason with Broady and Campbell Co. in Indianapolis for 30 years. He was a member of Bricklayers Union Local 3 and 4, the International Union of Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers Local 25 in Indiana. He was a member of American Legion Post 89, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1925, Fraternal Order of Eagles and Zion Lutheran Church, all of Seymour. He enjoyed fishing, spending time with his family and working with his friend, Scott Broady, on Saturdays.

Other survivors include his children, Samantha (fiancé, Travis Hineman) Carr, Sidney Carr, Makenzi Hensley and Kaegan Hensley; two grandchildren, Madalynn Wampner and Daulton Hineman; his brother, Tim Carr; his sister, Shawn (Todd) Poynter; and several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.

The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Voss Chapel in Seymour with the Rev. Jeffrey Stuckwisch officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 1 to 6 p.m. Sunday and from 9 a.m. until time of service Monday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Zion Lutheran Church or donor’s choice of charity.
