Selma Jean Verble, 78, of Medora died at 3:35 a.m. Friday, Oct. 23, 2015, at Schneck Medical Center in Seymour.

Born July 9, 1937, in Molus, Kentucky, she was the daughter of Ephie Brock and Ida Calloway Brock, both of whom preceded her in death. On May 1, 1954, at Brownstown United Methodist Church, she married Terry Verble, who survives.

She was a homemaker and loved flowers, gardening and being with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a very active member of Medora United Methodist Church.

Besides her husband, survivors include a son, Mark (Karen) Verble of West Baden; a daughter, Sherry (Ron) Weir of Scottsburg; grandchildren, Lori Hall, David Hayden, Robin (Seth) Pearson, Tara (Matt) Pearcy, Todd Verble and Jenny (Daryl) Hunter; eight great-grandchildren; a brother, Ephie Brock of Medora; and a sister, Jewel Miser of Medora.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Pearl Edward Brock, Joseph Henderson Brock, George Brock and Arvil Bud Brock; and two sisters, Geneva Eglen and Joann “Mat” Foist.

The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Hague Funeral Home in Medora with the Rev. Lennie Lawrence officiating.

Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday and from 9 a.m. until time of service Monday at the funeral home.

Burial will be at White River Valley Cemetery in Medora.
