Doris Jean Johnson Huff, 82, of Seymour passed away Monday, Oct. 26, 2015, at IU Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.

Born Jan. 31, 1933, in Franklin County, Kentucky, she was the daughter of Charles R. Johnson Sr. and Minnie Brewer Johnson, both of whom preceded her in death. On May 3, 1952, at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, she married her high school sweetheart, James Theodore Huff Sr., who survives.

Doris was a member of the 1951 graduating class of Shields High School. She worked at Arvin Industries for 10 years and at Seymour Electronics. She was a member of the Fraternal Order of the Moose Ladies Auxiliary, Fraternal Order of Eagles Ladies Auxiliary, St. Ambrose Catholic Church and a bowling league for several years. She enjoyed sewing, loved being around her family and treasured her two dogs.

Beside her husband, survivors include her children, James Theodore “Ted” (Sue) Huff Jr., Charles William “Chuck” (Susan) Huff and Rebecca Jorene “Becky” (Gene) Scott; grandchildren, Amy Michelle (Leon) Hawkins, Staci Rachelle (Joe) Boyle, Matthew (significant other, Kim Mills) Huff, Eligha “Ligie” (Rachel) Whipker, Cody (Kayla) Huff, Sarah (Theodore Jr.) Stucker and Bryan (fiancée, Ashley Garlick) Whipker; great-grandchildren, Zack Hawkins, Ethan Hawkins, Grace Hawkins, Hunter Akemon, Nolan Huff, Adalyn Huff, Taylor Burdine and Miranda Burdine; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a great-granddaughter, Savannah Akemon; sister, Pauline Hardy; and brothers, Paul, Kenneth and Charles Johnson Jr.

The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Voss Chapel in Seymour, with Pastor Theodore Stucker Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today and from noon until time of service Thursday at the funeral home.
