Mildred Thomas, 88, of Seymour passed away at 8:50 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2015, at Lutheran Community Home.

Born Sept. 23, 1927, in Seymour, she was the daughter of Frank and Mary Vogel Maschino, both of whom preceded her in death. She married John W. Thomas in Florida, and he preceded her in death.

She was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Seymour. She had been employed as a bookkeeper at Steinwedels, Pardieck Heating and Air and Pardieck Implements. She had many hobbies, including reading and watching sports. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and enjoyed playing bingo with her friends at Lutheran Community Home.

Survivors include her children, Michael Thomas and Scott (Brenda) Thomas; grandchildren, Clint (Katina) Thomas and Cory Thomas; great-grandchild, Cooper Thomas; brother, Marvin Maschino; sisters, Loretta Henkle and Ann Hill; brother-in-law, Ken Kvaal; and sister-in-law, Pat Maschino.

Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by brothers, Joseph Maschino, Orville Maschino and Tony Maschino; and sisters, Leona Byrlinski, Helen Thoele, Mary Jean Kvaal, Deloris Maschino and Dorothy Hess.

The funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Ambrose Catholic Church with Father Dan Staublin officiating, assisted by Deacon Mike East. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Voss Chapel in Seymour and from 10 a.m. until time of service Friday at the church. A rosary service will be at 3:45 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be written to St. Ambrose Catholic Church, St. John’s Lutheran Church Sauers building fund or Lutheran Community Home.
