HARDINSBURG

Wendell Earl Riley, 74, of Hardinsburg, passed away Monday, Oct. 26, 2015, at his residence.

Born Dec. 15, 1940, in Muncie, he was the son of George and Mazel Irene Lesley Riley, who preceded in death. He married Sharron Ann Morris, and they later divorced.

He was a machinist and maintenance worker at Electra Motors in Anaheim, California, and later retired from A.O. Smith/UUPCO in Paoli. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran and had served on the USS Robinson guided missile destroyer.

Survivors include  son, Jeremy (Amanda) Riley, Hardinsburg; two brothers, Charles H. Riley, New Albany, and James Rosco Riley, Jeffersonville; a grandson, J.C. Riley; and a granddaughter, Scarlett Riley.

He preceded in death by a brother, John Russell Rile, and several stepbrothers and stepsisters.

The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Dillman-Scott Funeral Home, with Pastor Dave Mikulsky officiating. Interment will follow at the Stampers Creek Cemetery, Paoli.

Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday and from 9 a.m. until time of service Friday.
