Friends planning quarterly book sale

The Friends of the Jackson County Public Library will conduct its quarterly used book sale from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday in the meeting room at the Seymour Library, 303 W. Second St.

A special Friends-only preview sale will be from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Friday and at 9:30 a.m. Saturday.

This sale will offer tables of books, movies, music, miscellaneous items and some surplus equipment.

Prices include adult hardback and softbound books for $1; children’s and young adult hardback and paperback books for 50 cents; and DVDs for $2. The “everything-you-can-fit-in-a-bag-for-$3” sale is at 3 p.m. Saturday.

Donations of gently used books are welcome to help stock upcoming and ongoing sales at Seymour, Crothersville and Medora.

Donors may drop them off at any checkout desk during library hours.

Anyone interested in becoming a Friend (or renewing their membership for 2016) will find forms at the sale, at the checkout desk or online. Annual dues are $5 for individuals, $10 for family, $25 for donor and $50 for benefactor.

This is the last quarterly sale of the year.

Due to customer requests, the new year will ring in bimonthly sales, beginning Feb. 6. The Friends-only preview sale will be Feb. 5 and before the Feb. 6 sale.
