A couple linked to a burglary reported Wednesday in the Freetown area were arrested later in the day near Crothersville.

Adam Henry Gebhart, 33, and his wife, Erica E. Gebhart, 24, both of Seymour, face theft and burglary charges in connection with a report of tools and other items taken from a garage in the 3600 block of West County Road 650N. That theft was reported by the property owner at 2:22 p.m. Wednesday.

Adam Gebhart also was arrested on a Jackson Superior Court II writ of attachment. Both were booked into the Jackson County Jail in Brownstown on Wednesday and were being held without bond pending initial hearings in Jackson Circuit Court.

Jackson County Officer Mitch Ray initially responded to the burglary report and was assisted by county Officer Adam Nicholson.

The stolen items, including a leaf blower, a weedeater, a pellet gun and drills, were found in the 1999 Chevrolet Lumina the Gebharts were in when they were stopped by Crothersville officers Brett Turner and Chris Cooper, Ray said in his report.

The stolen items were returned to the owner.
