Sixty-five employees of American Senior Communities recently were honored with Quest for Excellence awards.

One of those awards was presented to Janice Johnson, social services director with Seymour Crossing, 707 S. Jackson Park Drive. The award was presented during the firm’s 15th annual awards dinner in Carmel.

Steve Gilliland, an author and storyteller, spoke to the group of 650 employees on the subject of “Hide Your Goat” strategies to stay positive when negativity surrounds you.

The Quest for Excellence Award honors one special employee from each community, according to a news release. This is an individual who has consistently demonstrated a commitment to excellence, dedication to his or her job, a positive attitude and a “whatever it takes” passion for customer service.
