Takako Hendershot

HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif.

Takako Hendershot, 83, of Huntington Beach, California, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2015.

Born in Kumamoto, Japan, she was the daughter of Haruto Horita and Suziko Horita, both of whom preceded her in death. On June 28, 1959, in Tokyo, she married Leland Eugene “Sonny” Hendershot of Cortland. He preceded her in death.

Survivors include her children, David Hendershot, Timothy Hendershot and Alice Lee Hendershot; and three grandchildren, Maia Hendershot, Paris Hendershot and Aspen Hendershot.

Beside her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Steven Douglas Hendershot.

A graveside service will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Riverview Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 12:30 to 1:15 p.m. Saturday at Voss Chapel in Seymour.

Memorials may be made to the National Reye’s Syndrome Foundation or American Cancer Society.
