Southern Indiana Center for the Arts Paint the Town social painting experience has partnered with Rails Craft Brew and Eatery and Chateau de Pique for its November painting, which features the poppy.

The first session is set for 6 p.m. Monday at Rails, 114 St. Louis Ave., Seymour.

“Students will brush mix their gray background color, so everyone’s will look different,” instructor Darnell Dukes said. “They also get to choose from five to six colors to paint their poppies.”

A second session is planned for 1 p.m. Nov. 21 at Chateau de Pique, 6361 N. County Road 760E, Seymour.

You don’t have to have previous painting experience or talent to participate. Patterns will be provided, and you will be guided through step-by-step to complete a finished piece of art. Canvas size is 12-by-12.

This is the first in a three-flower series. Other flowers to be offered after the first of the year will be cosmos and tulips.

Class price is $30, and arts center members receive a 20 percent discount. The price includes all supplies and instruction.

Preregistration and prepayment are required to reserve your materials. You may do so by calling SICA at 812-522-2278 or emailing [email protected]. Individual membership can be obtained for as little as $25 for one year.

Food and drinks can be purchased separately. If you plan on eating, it is suggested that you arrive 45 minutes early so the painting can begin at 6 p.m. Monday.
