Herbert Hollin Jr., 63, of Seymour passed away at 7:46 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 15, 2015, at home with his family by his side.

Born May 8, 1952, in Oneida, Kentucky, he was the son of Herbert Hollin Sr. and Fern Jones Hollin, who survive. On May 14, 1994, he married the love of his life, Maria Luisa Aviles, who also survives.

Herbert graduated from Seymour High School and was a great family man. He liked to fish, hunt, pitch horseshoes and take a ride on a motorcycle. He retired from Seymour Tubing after 23 years of service. After retirement, Herbert was known as the handyman for neighbors and friends.

Besides his parents and his wife of 21 years, survivors include his children, Bridgett (Joe) Pelt, Othniel Plata, Laura Plata, Adan Plata, Joel Plata and Eugenia (Robert) Weaver; several grandchildren; three brothers, Michael (Connie) Hollin, Glenn (Sandy) Hollin and Terry (Penny) Hollin; and two sisters, Mary (Gary) Hardgrove and Judy (Bill) Perry.

He was preceded in death by two children, Josué Plata and Carlos Plata.

The funeral service will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Voss Chapel in Seymour. Per Herbert’s request, cremation will follow through Voss Funeral Service and Tri-County Crematory.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until time of service.
