Girls Inc. of Jackson County is hosting its sixth annual Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving morning, Nov. 26.

The 8K run and 5K walk will begin at 7:30 a.m. from the Girls Inc. parking lot at 956 N. O’Brien St., Seymour. Last year, nearly 400 runners and walkers joined the race.

Cost is $30 plus five nonperishable food items to donate to the food pantry at Human Services Inc. of Jackson County. For children ages 10 and under, registration is $10. T-shirts are an additional $5.

Results will be completed for runners and walkers by Indiana Timing. Medals, plaques and gift certificates will be awarded. Also, donated door prizes from local businesses will be given away throughout the morning.

Proceeds from the race will benefit Girls Inc., which has a motto of inspiring all girls to be strong, smart and bold.
