James Eugene “Jim” Disney, 83, of Seymour passed away Monday, Nov. 16, 2015, at Seymour Crossing.

Born Aug. 14, 1932, in Seymour, he was the son of Lincoln E. and Minnie L. Disney, both of whom preceded him in death. On Sept. 19, 1981, in Seymour, he married Mattie Garland, who preceded him in death Jan. 5, 2002.

James worked for social services answering the phones and doing clerical work. He also was a local real estate agent for many years.

He was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church. His hobbies included watching Westerns and listening to country music. Over his lifetime, James accumulated quite a collection of CDs and DVDs.

Survivors include three sisters, Lois Disney, Nancy (Charles) Pifer and Helen (Danny) Gonzales; four nieces, Linda Sutton, Peggy (Robert) Mellencamp, Jenny (Joe) Stout and Sadie Gonzales; and two nephews, Steve Disney Jacobs and Brian Pifer.

Besides his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a brother, Ralph Disney; a sister, Shirley Miller; a niece, Sheila Pifer Woodard; and a nephew, Danny Disney Jacobs.

The funeral service will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Burkholder Funeral Chapel in Seymour with the Rev. Joseph Barlau and the Rev. Andrew Currao officiating.

Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until time of service Saturday.

Burial will be at Spraytown Cemetery.
